Laura J. Chavero, J.D.

Attorney

Estate Planning. Probate. Trust Administration. Business Planning.

ABOUT ME

Since 2015, I have focused my law practice on providing clients with comprehensive legal guidance in the areas of estate planning, business succession planning, probate, and estate administration, with a special emphasis on educating and empowering elderly clients and their families.

I work diligently to ensure peace of mind for individuals and families alike by offering personalized planning solutions designed to achieve each client’s stated goals and address their specific concerns. This is true whether we are designing a plan to protect generational wealth, drafting a succession plan for the family business, or discussing and planning for public benefits. I understand and appreciate that family dynamics matter, and that a “legacy” can mean different things to different people. It is a cornerstone of my practice that every client leaves my office with a plan that is reflective of their individual values and has been tailored to achieve their unique objectives.

Education & Experience

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language with an emphasis on Spanish Literature, and I received my Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University – Dedman School of Law in 2015. While pursuing my undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma I lived and studied abroad for several semesters in Puebla, Mexico at the Universidad de las Americas (UDLAP), an experience that forever changed me by igniting my passion for travel and my love and appreciation of the Hispanic and Latinx culture.

Providing Solutions & Promoting Family Harmony

In addition to providing personalized estate planning solutions, I have extensive experience navigating the complexities of the probate process in Texas. I understand the strain that a loved one’s death can place on familial relationships. As a probate attorney, I take my role as “counselor” very seriously, and I strive to represent my Executor and Administrator clients in a manner designed to promote family harmony and foster good will.

Estate administration is oftentimes complex and emotional. If your loved one has died without a will in Texas, the probate process can be even more complicated and time-consuming - especially when blended families, minor children, and/or incapacitated heirs are involved. My focus is on providing sound guidance and creative solutions designed to lighten the emotional and financial burden and mitigate any unintended consequences.

Community Involvement & Memberships

I am a native Texan, and I have lived in Frisco since 2018 with my husband and our two children. I am active in the Frisco ISD PTA, and I am a member of the Collin County Bar Association, the Denton County Bar Association, the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Bar College. I am also a member of the local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT).

I look forward to meeting you and working with you to create a plan for you and your family's future.
